Greta’s first non-breastmilk taste in life was actually an iced americano, twice in a few days. The first time Rae lost a $10 bet. I was sure Greta would slurp from a straw if she got anywhere near one. Rae thought she’d just gum it. So when presented with an iced americano and said straw, she took less than three seconds to slurp up some ice cold cream and vanilla-infused americano. Days later, upon returning from a weekend trip to Chicago, Rae was chatting away with her mother and Vanessa while holding, yet again, an iced americano. Greta ninja lunged for the straw and slurped up a huge gulp. This time, she frowned as though she’d eaten canned crap.

Next up? Margarita…or maybe a double malt scotch.
